Management Structure & People
We thought we would briefly introduce our key management to you.
Jenna became Chairman of the company in 2010, taking over from her father who founded and led the company for over 30 years. Jenna has been immersed in the industry from a very young age and has grown up with a deep understanding and experience of the technical, commercial and client facing requirements of the business. Jenna is involved in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the company and has an entrepreneurial drive to take the company forward.
Tony is a qualified quantity surveyor who joined the company in 1990. Prior to this he worked with both regional and international main contractors on a variety of commercial and industrial projects. He has been DSL Managing Director since 2000 and has worked in the construction and demolition industries for 35 years. Tony is a member of the Chartered Institute of Building, Association of Planning Supervisors and is NEBOSH qualified. His responsibilities lie in the day to day administration of the company, with a particular focus on Health, Safety, Environment & Quality assurance and commercial matters.
Michael has been with the company for over 30 years, since its inception. He started with the company in 1980 as a labourer, topman burner and has undertaken his current role as contracts director for the last 15 years. Mick has demolished some of the largest, most complicated structures in the UK, including 10 full power station demolitions and various multi-million pound chemical and heavy industry sites for the likes of BP and Corus. He oversees and manages all operational matters for the company.
Paul started his career as a qualified mining engineer with British Coal and spent 22 years overseeing various large scale mining and engineering projects, including the rationalisation of British Coal’s mining operations and assets. This included significant amounts of demolition on various British Coal sites across the UK. He joined the company in 1994 as Technical Manager and manages various technical and operational activities for the company, including the preparation of detailed RAMS information, programme and contract management. Paul also manages our asbestos removal division, overseeing all contracts where asbestos removal is required.
Gaynor joined DSL in 2012 as finance manager responsible for managing the financial and commercial functions for the company. Before joining Gaynor held senior finance and company secretarial positions with public and private companies in the engineering services, construction, capital equipment and manufacturing sectors.
Chris is a qualified quantity surveyor who joined the company in 2010 as commercial manager. He has worked in the construction industry for 10 years, firstly as a quantity surveyor for a private house builder and then a large, national main contractor.
