With the restructuring of the Mining Industry, Demolition Services Ltd. was employed by British Coal Corporation to demolish several Collieries down to ground level.

Cotgrave Colliery

Cotgrave Colliery included the demolition and processing of approximately 6,000 tonnes of steel structures.

Koape Winding Towers some 43 metres high and weighing 800 tonnes were initially felled using the controlled use of explosives.

Silverhill Colliery

Silverhill Colliery contained traditional headgears in both steel and concrete together with a Coal Preparation Plant and a reinforced concrete Rapid Loading Bunker.

The latter was felled by explosives and processed using concrete pulverisers.
